The State Department investigation is looking into the emails that were deleted by Hillary Clinton and company during the Obama Administration. The FBI has previously reported that the information deleted was classified information, the reason the deletion of these emails was such a big deal was that these emails were being housed on a private server as opposed to a secure government one, this left the information open to penetration from foreign governments and hacker groups.
