Hillary Clinton is desperate. Perhaps it’s the prospect of going home to her philandering husband, or the very credible fear that she’ll fade into total irrelevancy. Whatever it is, she’s challenging the election results:
Hillary Clinton’s campaign said Saturday it will take part in efforts to push for recounts in several key states, joining with Green Party candidate Jill Stein, who has raised millions of dollars to have votes counted again in Wisconsin.\
But, in a post on Medium, Marc Elias, the campaign’s counsel, said the campaign’s own investigation has not uncovered any evidence of hacking of voting systems.
In the campaign’s most detailed comments to date on the recount, Elias wrote that while the campaign was not going to contest the results itself, it has decided now to take part in the effort to “ensure that it is fair to all sides.”
But President-elect Donald Trump on Saturday dismissed the recount and said that “the election is over.”
This is total lunacy. It is the act of a desperate person, and as brilliant pollster Jeff Blehar points out, it’s a massive waste of Democratic resources:
I will tell you right now what will happen w/recount in WI: a few totals *may* change, here & there. In hundreds. Outcome will be unchanged.

This isn’t going to be like WI Sup Ct 2011, where town of Brookfield dropped from orig totals due to reporting error. That part done already

The only concrete result that will come from the recount of WI (and MI/PA, should those happen) will be the torching of millions of donor $.

And that will matter come 2018, when Joe Donnelly, Claire McCaskill, Jon Tester, Heidi Heitkamp etc. hard-up for $ in tough red-state reelex

To recap: This will change absolutely nothing. It’s being done at the behest of junk science advocate Jill Stein, on behalf of a woman, Hillary Clinton, who who was utterly unelectable, and it will cost millions of dollars that Democrats are going to desperately need to defend vulnerable candidates in 2018. This after the Democratic Party already sacrificed its entire primary process and wasted millions of dollars promoting said unelectable woman.
So much for accepting election results.
