Is the United States on the Brink of War

Well, that escalated quickly…

PRESIDENT Obama has deployed US special forces troops along Lithuania’s border with ‘aggressive’ Russia.

Tensions between Washington and the Kremlin have reached Cold War levels amid reports Vladimir Putin is deploying nuke-ready missiles in the Russian province of Kaliningrad – which borders Poland, Belarus and Lithuania.

And Lithuanian Defence Ministry spokeswoman Asta Galdikaite confirmed America has offered additional military support following Russia invasion of Crimea.

She said: “The United States was the first to offer additional safety assurance measures to the Baltic countries following the deterioration of the security situation in the region after the annexation of the Crimea”.

It’s worth remembering: Russia is not our friend. They could, at best, be an uneasy ally in the war against terrorism, but Vladimir Putin clearly has designs on reestablishing some serious level of control over the sovereign nations of Eastern Europe.

Kaliningrad was formerly known as Konigsberg, and was one of Europe’s most beautiful cities prior to World War II, when it was largely destroyed. The Soviet Union, then Russia, has since used the city as a major warm water port for its fleet, and has been threatening to put missiles in the city for years. In response, Obama and Clinton did absolutely nothing. Now, Obama’s idleness has created a situation where the United States is forced to act.

Now, here’s what’s going on, per the Lithuanians:

Lithuania’s foreign minister Linas Linkevicius confirmed Russia’s military activity in Kaliningrad is terrifying the region.

He said: “Iskander missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads have been deployed. There are S-400 missiles and modernised jets.”

This is what a “reset” looks like. Turning a blind eye while the nations liberated at the end of the Cold War fall back under the Iron Curtain.

Thanks God we’ve only got two more weeks of Obama.
