Mueller Drops Most Charges Against Former Trump Campaign Advisor

Special Counsel Robert Mueller threw the book at Rick Gates. The extent of which was documented by Fox News: ” Mueller’s team filed a motion to drop 22 tax and bank fraud charges against Gates.

The filing was tied to Gates’ agreement last week to plead guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States and lying to the FBI. That plea pertained to charges filed against him in October in Washington, D.C., for which he still faces up to 71 months in prison.”

Gates pled guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States and lying to the FBI. Paul Manafort still faces the charges listed above, and it would seem that Gates is cooperating with the government.

The Special Counsel keeps playing this game of piling a long list of charges onto people in exchange for information. He has bluffed his way through so far, but his actions do not seem indicative of someone with a strong case, but rather someone who is fishing for anything he can find, not someone building the case of the century. If he had an abundance of evidence, he wouldn’t be giving out deals.
