REPORT: Trump Chooses Next Economic Advisor

President Trump will make economist Larry Kudlow his next national economic adviser, replacing Gary Cohn, according to a new report.

CNBC is reporting that the president could tap Kudlow as early as Thursday. Kudlow is a senior contributor at CNBC.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump said he is looking “very strongly” at Kudlow, who worked for the Federal Reserve and the Reagan administration before becoming a recognizable face on television. The president said he’s also speaking to “many others” about the job but that Kudlow “has a very good chance.”

“I’ve known him a long time,” Trump said “We don’t agree on everything. In this case I think it’s good. I want a diversity of opinion…He backed me very early in the campaign, I think the earliest. I think he was one of my original backers, he’s a very, very talented man.”
