Anti-Trump Democrat Rep. Schiff (D-Calif.) was hoping that the Democrat counter to the Nunes Memo would send shockwaves through Washington, D.C. In fact, it landed on Friday with a resounding thud.
 
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) responded to the Democrat memo by saying, “We actually wanted this out. They are advocating that it’s OK for the FBI and DOJ to use political dirt” paid for by one U.S. political party to attack another, Nunes said. “This is clear evidence the Democrats are not only trying to cover this up but are also colluding with parts of the government to cover this up.” 
 
President Trump weighed in Trump with Jeanine Pirro on Fox News on Saturday night, said Schiff’s memo “really verifies” the Nunes memo and is “a very bad document for their side.” As far as Trump attacks go, the Schiff Memo was a failure to launch.
 
If you remember the hype, the Schiff Memo was supposed to shock the world and was bandied about as a definitive resource to debunk the Nunes Memo. Given that the media has moved on, it’s clear that the memo was a dud.
