Trump Drops The Hammer On Canada’s Trudeau

Canada’s Prime Minister began whining when Trump imposed new tariffs on aluminum and steel that affected our trade with Canada. Trump decided to hit back, pointing out the unfair trade practices the country to the north has been engaged in with the United States.

According to The Daily Caller:

President Donald Trump hit back at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s protests at the recent leveling of tariffs on steel and aluminium imports to the U.S. from his country.

Trump’s tweet comes after the U.S. levied steel and aluminum tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and the European Union. All three parties quickly announced that retaliatory action would be taken reciprocally on the U.S. in light of the tariffs.

Trudeau was particularly scathing in response, saying, “We have to believe that at some point, common sense will prevail. But we see no sign of that in this action today by the U.S. administration.”

Trump also issued a statement on trade with Canada late Thursday, saying, “The United States has been taken advantage of for many decades on trade.  Those days are over. Earlier today, this message was conveyed to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada: The United States will agree to a fair deal, or there will be no deal at all.”
