Trump Has Huge Praise For The Stanley Cup Champs

President Donald Trump welcomed the 2016 NHL Stanley Cups winners the Pittsburgh Penguins to the White House Tuesday, calling them “incredible patriots.”

Alongside their Cup win, Trump listed some of the humanitarian organizations championed by the Penguins.

“Just last week the Pens pledged two donations of $25,000 each toward relief efforts in Puerto Rico and in support of the victims and first responders of the terrible attack in Las Vegas,” Trump said during a press conference featuring the Pittsburgh professional hockey team.

He then asked for the audience to give a round of applause to the police and first responders in Las Vegas who acted following the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history in September.
