President Trump has warned Turkey that sanctions would be coming if they did not release an American pastor imprisoned in Turkey. On, Wednesday Trump made good on his promise.

According to Fox News:

The White House announced Wednesday that the Treasury Department is imposing sanctions on Turkish officials over detained American pastor Andrew Brunson.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said the sanctions would be imposed on Turkey’s ministers of justice and interior, saying they both played roles in his arrest.

The pastor was placed on house arrest recently, but Turkey continues to deny his release. Hopefully, these sanctions put enough pressure on Turkey to send the pastor home.
