Trump’s Message To Sessions

President Trump sent a message to AG Sessions via Twitter Wednesday. He directed the attorney general to end the Mueller investigation immediately. Sessions’ has recused himself from the investigation which would make it difficult for him to end it.

According to Town Hall:

President Trump directed his Attorney General Jeff Sessions to end special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russian collusion investigation on Wednesday, which he still believes is a “witch hunt.” He also suggested the investigation is politically biased. Trump sent his AG the directive after quoting liberal lawyer Alan Dershowitz on Twitter.

Sessions has actually recused himself from the probe, so it would likely be up to Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein to make a decision on whether the investigation will proceed.

Top Republicans have defended the probe, including Speaker Ryan. It is now up to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to end the probe if he sees fit.
