Whispers around the memo that is slated to come out are leading White House aides to question whether FBI Director Wray will stay in the administration, according to CNN. They report that the Director is "raising hell" to stop the memo.
Short of blocking the release of the memo outright, some in the White House say that the memo will possibly be redacted to address concerns held by Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein and FBI Director Wray. Wray is arguing behind the scenes that the memo is fundamentally inaccurate, and no form of it is acceptable.
Other White House sources say that Wray is not threatening to quit over the memo, but did bring his concerns to White House Chief of Staff Kelly earlier this week. Yet, the source claims Wray could leave over the matter, and is hesitant to lose another high profile appointee this early in the President's term.
It isn't clear whether CNN's legion of anonymous sources are indeed correct that Wray is willing to sacrifice his position to make a scandal that shifts focus away from the real scandal. What is clear is that the inner workings of the Deep State are forming up in a phalanx to protect themselves from the coming onslaught.
