Just yesterday news broke that Donald Trump Jr. may have talked to a Russian during the election (this is us rolling our eyes).

Democrats took to their nearest soap box to use this opportunity to bash President Trump, his family, and his staff once again. The mainstream media quickly marched in unison with their political teammates on Team Democrat. No surprise there.

However, the big surprise came today. Jeb Bush and Team GOP Establishment et. al. have been anything but fans of candidate or President Donald Trump. When Charlie Spies, who served as Treasurer to Jeb’s Super PAC, opened his mouth he made some jaws drop and liberal mouths slowly shut.

The Washington Post reports:

Charlie Spies, a campaign finance lawyer at Clark Hill who advises GOP candidates and groups, said pondering such a case against Trump Jr. would be a stretch.

“A few, unhinged liberal lawyers have put forth the theory that there’s a campaign finance violation, but there is zero precedent or legal authority to back up that claim,” Spies said. “Based on public information, the conversation regarding potential negative information did not meet the standard for a solicitation, and also does not have a provable value, which would be necessary in a campaign finance context.”

While liberals will try to dismiss this as a Republican defending a Republican. They’re wrong. The reason why this is so important is that Spies does not seek to gain anything by helping Trump. Trump has his own team of lawyers and it’s exceedingly unlikely that Trump’s orbit — campaign, White House, Administration, supporting PACs —  would hire Spies.

Further, the Post reported:

“Randall Eliason, a former federal prosecutor who teaches law at George Washington University, said the facts as they stand are not enough to build a criminal case against Trump…”

This is the same Washington Post that reported so negatively about Trump during his contest against Hillary and continues to do so. In fact, shortly after the election, they changed their motto to “Democracy Dies in Darkness”.

As liberals continue their witch hunt lobbing asinine accusations at President Trump and anyone who has come within a 10 feet radius of him at any point in his life, show them these words from the Washington Post. Remind them these words came from THAT Washington Post and THAT Bush confidante.
