WASHINGTON (WJLA) – A person is in custody Friday morning after “suspicious activity” in front of the White House, according to U.S. Secret Service.
Update: subject is in custody, Lafayette Park & North Fence line along Penn. Ave. remain closed.

The Secret Service says closures around the White House are ongoing after the incident.
***Update at 11:24 PM: There was also a “suspicious package” retrieved in this incident. The White House was placed on lockdown which has since been lifted. We are still seeking more information on the incident as the U.S. Capitol and White House have been on high alert following Tuesday’s terrorist attack in New York City.
