Just when you think the Democrats couldn’t have had a worse night while Trump’s speech resonated with a divided nation, you’d be wrong. Democrats filed an abysmal fundraising report the with Federal Election Commission (FEC) while you were watching their leaders’ dour faces on television; they are almost broke.
 
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) only has $200,000 more than their debt. The Republican National Committee (RNC) has no debt, and $38.8 million on hand. 
 
House and Senate Republicans are also boasting of successful fundraising hauls. It’s not impossible for Democrats to get a surge of cash and be competitive in November, but they are behind the eight ball.
 
You might have held it against Democrats for not standing when the President said positive things about our country last night and thought their long faces were disrespectful. Balance that anger with pity, because they had millions of good reasons.
