When a city has had the crime problems that Detroit has had, it makes sense that a grown-up has to come onto the scene to clean up the mess. Whatever the flaws are with Detroit Police Chief James Craig, he’s a grown-up when it comes to arming teachers to prevent school shootings.
Craig told WXYZ that “some” teachers should be armed. He’s referring to teachers who have military or specialized training. “There needs to be a vetting process. That’s all I’m saying,” Craig said. Cue the liberal outrage from liberals in Michigan’s education system.
“What if a teacher goes to break up an altercation and you have a firearm right on your side and it is seized by a student?” asks Steven McGhee, a Michigan school superintendent. While Police Chief Craig may not be a Trump guy, he seems to have more faith in educators than the Superintendent does.
Detroit has seen things, murder, and mayhem that would be in the nightmares of most cities. Yet somebody in Detroit still has common sense, and knows that the police can’t be everywhere at once; liberals, on the other hand, are still clinging to the delusion that the government can save them from anything.
