Gowdy Dishes On Rosenstein Impreachment

On Sunday Trey Gowdy announced that he is not anticipating the impeachment of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Stating that if Trump wants him gone he can fire him.

According to The Daily Caller:

Rep. Trey Gowdy put a damper on any potential plans to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, stating on Sunday that there isn’t enough House support to pass such a measure.

“No. For what? Impeach him for what?” Gowdy told Margaret Brennan on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” “No.”

“I’m not convinced there is a movement,” Gowdy said, referring to a report from Politico that Reps. Mark Meadows, Jim Jordan, and others are preparing impeachment documents to oust the deputy attorney general.

Gowdy said if President Trump is unhappy with Rosenstein’s performance, “he can fire him with a tweet” since he is a Trump appointee.

Gowdy also stated that he talks to him often. The talks are apparently constructive and it keeps Gowdy up to date on the Russia investigation.
