Fox News has announced that it has hired Trey Gowdy as a political and legal contributor across all of its networks.
Article from Greenville Online:
Former Republican Congressman Trey Gowdy just signed on in Greenville as a private lawyer for a high-powered firm, and now he’s taking on a second job — as a contributor to the conservative Fox News Channel.
The television network announced today that the Upstate Republican would be providing “political and legal analysis across both FNC and Fox Business Network’s (FBN) daytime and primetime programming.”
Earlier this month — on the day his eight-year tenure as representative of the 4th Congressional District ended after he decided not to seek re-election — Gowdy announced his transition to private life as head of white-collar defense and government investigations team at the firm Nelson, Mullins, Riley & Scarborough.
In an interview with The Greenville News before the announcement of the job at the firm, Gowdy swore off involvement in politics, including as a lobbyist.
Gowdy has also said that he would not be leaving politics if he enjoyed it. It will be interesting to see the perspective he brings as a contributor.
