President Trump made it official Friday morning in declaring a national emergency in an attempt to secure the US-Mexico border.
During his press conference from the White House Rose Garden, President Trump said “Today, I’m announcing several critical actions. We fight wars thousands of miles away but we don’t protect our own border.”
Trump’s declaration will allow him to redirect funds from the Pentagon and Treasury to build a wall along the US-Mexico without congressional action.
