Mark Sanford Announces GOP Challenge to Trump, Trump Drops new Nickname

President Trump has a new challenger. Former South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford has announced a GOP primary challenge to the President.

Almost Immediately after, President Trump labeled Sanford, and the other 2 GOP members challenging Trump, the Three Stooges.

According to The Hill:

President Trump early Monday knocked former South Carolina governor and congressman Mark Sanford’s entry into the Republican presidential primary, labeling his GOP challengers the “Three Stooges.”

“When the former Governor of the Great State of South Carolina, @MarkSanford, was reported missing, only to then say he was away hiking on the Appalachian Trail, then was found in Argentina with his Flaming Dancer friend, it sounded like his political career was over,” he tweeted.

“It was,…but then he ran for Congress and won, only to lose his re-elect after I Tweeted my endorsement, on Election Day, for his opponent. But now take heart, he is back, and running for President of the United States. The Three Stooges, all badly failed candidates, will give it a go!” he added.

Sanford announced his candidacy on Sunday, joining former Massachusetts Gov. William Weld (R) and former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) in challenging Trump for the Republican nomination.
