Megan McCain, daughter of late Senator John McCain and lifelong Republican, has indicated she will be voting for Joe Biden.
On Wednesday night she said, “it shouldn’t take a rocket scientist” to realize who she will vote for come November.
“There’s one man who has made pain in my life a living hell,” said Megan McCain, the co-host of “The View”, obviously referring to Trump during her father’s passing.
She went onto say and there is “another man who has literally shepherded me through the grief process,” referring to Joe Biden.
She later added that politics are personal for her.
President Trump and Senator John McCain feuded during the last years of the late Senator’s life.
During the 2016 campaign, candidate Trump said McCain was “not a war hero” and that he liked “people that weren’t captured”.
After McCain’s passing Trump was critical of McCain’s family after not getting thanked for the funeral he put on in March of last year.
According to The Hill:
President Trump on Wednesday unleashed fresh criticism of John McCain, attacking the late GOP senator from Arizona for his connection to a dossier of claims about the president and Russia, his vote against a Republican effort to repeal ObamaCare and his support for the Iraq War.
Trump spent five full minutes jabbing at McCain during an official White House event intended to highlight manufacturing in Ohio. The barbs marked the fourth time in the last five days that Trump has criticized McCain, who died from brain cancer in August.
“I gave him the kind of funeral that he wanted, which as president I had to approve. I don’t care about this, I didn’t get a thank you. That’s OK,” Trump told workers at a tank factory in Lima, Ohio.
“We sent him on the way, but I wasn’t a fan of John McCain.”
Trump’s sentiment echoed the fact that politics has been personal between the two families since Trump’s political ascension in 2015.
