The NBA is owned by China, this was highlighted in recent events during the Free Hong Kong protests. During these protests, the NBA took action against players, coaches, and fans who refused to bend the knee to the communist nation. China holds a lot of power from the NBA and the Free Hong Kong incident proved that.
