Trump ally and donor Louis DeJoy has been named the Postmaster General of the U.S. Postal Service.
DeJoy will be the first head of the U.S. Postal Service to not come from within its ranks in the last two decades. He will assume the role on June 15th, 2020.
Prior to his appointment, DeJoy was CEO of New Breed Logistics, a High Point, NC-based logistics company and president of LDJ Global Strategies, a firm focused on private equity and real estate.
DeJoy also led the fundraising efforts for the 2020 Republican National Convention which will be held in his home state in August.
There may never be a better time for someone with private sector shipping & logistics experience to take over at the USPS as it will lose $2 Billion each month through coronavirus recession and has suffered from massive shortfalls prior to the coronavirus induced problems.
