Ilhan Omar had committed Tax Fraud just prior to her running for Congress and quickly moved to fix it after her election. She had filed a joint tax return with Ahmed Hirsi in 2014 and 2015 without actually being married to him. In 2017 she had divorced another man, Ahmed Elmi, and then a year later in 2018 she had married Ahmed Hirsi, to whom she had filed her tax returns.
