David Laufman was a former DOJ chief of counterintelligence and export control. Laufman was the individual who interviewed Christopher Steele’s primary source, this source disavowed large swaths of the Steele dossier but it is believed that this was intentionally left out by Laufman. Laufman also played a role in the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server, since retiring in 2018 he has become a staunch critic of the President.
