Democrat Andrew Romanoff lost his primary against former Presidential Candidate John Hickenlooper. The interesting comparison to be made here is that Romanoff was a crazy progressive who endorsed the Green New Deal and John Hickenlooper is a big proponent of natural gas. While this is just one election it could lead to a bigger trend.
