Eliot Engel lost his race despite having backed the Green New Deal. Engel was a big wig in the Democrat party and his defeat marks another old school Democrat getting ousted by the extreme left. This is a trend that will likely become more common as time moves on. He lost to another up and coming democrat with ultra-progressive policy proposals akin to AOC.
