4.) Wayfair Response
The retailer Wayfair came out in response to these allegations. The company spokesperson stated that these listings were from a 3rd party they worked with and were accidentally listed with the wrong pictures. The cabinets with these prices were actually fairly massive industrial cabinet units that were meant for factories and large workshops. One of the bizarre things that have not been addressed is the correlation of the names of the missing children and the fact that pillows and other merchandise shared this theme. That being said correlation is not enough evidence for a criminal case against the company and likely not enough for an investigation either.
This is a statement from the company given to Business Insider:
“The products in question are industrial grade cabinets that are accurately priced. Recognizing that the photos and descriptions provided by the supplier did not adequately explain the high price point, we have temporarily removed the products from site to rename them and to provide a more in-depth description and photos that accurately depict the product to clarify the price point.”
