Yesterday’s confirmation hearing for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett was filled with hyperbole from Democratic Senators trying to make fireworks on national television.

With November’s election on the horizon, many questions the political clown show on Capitol Hill was hitting its stride.

However, there was one Senator who particularly shined with stupidity yesterday: Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI).

Hirono started her inquisition of Barrett by quoting Chief Justice Roberts who said judges are “not immune” to the problem of sexual misconduct and that it is the duty of a Senator to “ensure the fitness” of judicial nominees.

Hirono then really leaned into it.

She asked Barrett, “since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature?”

Barret, of course, replies “No”.

“Have you ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement related to this kind of contact,” Hirono asked as a follow-up.

Barrett responded “no”.

Hirono’s bizarre day in the Senate continued when she berated Amy Coney Barrett for using the term “sexual preference” (FOX NEWS):

Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, said the LGBTQ community should be “concerned” about Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s confirmation to the Supreme Court after she said she wouldn’t discriminate against “sexual preference.”

“Sexual preference is an offensive and outdated term, it is used by anti-LGBTQ activists to suggest that sexual orientation is a choice — it is not,” Hirono said.

The Hawaii Democrat said she was “disappointed” that the circuit court judge declined to weigh in on whether she agreed with the majority in Obergefell v. Hodges, the Supreme Court case that granted same-sex couples the right to marry.

“So even though you didn’t give a direct answer I think your response did speak volumes,” Hirono said. “Not once but twice you used the term ‘sexual preference’  to describe those in the LGBTQ community.”

David Rutz of the Free Beacon pointed out Hirnono’s hypocrisy:

Hirono didn’t end there. She offered several other gems up yesterday. We will leave you with this thread:
