Senator Hirono asked Barrett if she had ever sexually assaulted someone during the hearings. “Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature?” Hirono asked. the Senator from Hawaii then followed up by asking, “Have you ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement related to this kind of conduct?” The questioning was an insult to Barrett who has sterling professional credentials as well as being a role model, upstanding mother, and honorable American citizen.
