Former President Barack Obama is being called out for his blatant hypocrisy after he called President Trump a “dictator” during an interview with 60 Minutes. During the interview, Obama had the audacity to compare President Trump to a power-hungry dictator for the very claims he has been accused of throughout his presidency.

The Daily Wire reports:

“I think that there has been this sense over the last several years that literally anything goes and is justified in order to get power,” Obama said. “And that’s not unique to the United States. There are strong men and dictators around the world who think that, ‘I can do anything to stay in power. I can kill people. I can throw them in jail. I can run phony elections. I can suppress journalists.’”

“But that’s not who we’re supposed to be,” he added. “And one of the signals I think that Joe Biden needs to send to the world is that, ‘No, those values that we preached, and we believed in, and subscribed in– we still believe.’”

Obama has been accused of nearly everything that he mentioned regarding dictatorial behavior, from spying on journalists to killing scores of civilians in drone strikes.

Once the interview aired it did not take long for people to point out the former president’s hypocrisy. Americans were rightfully furious with Obama’s claims.

Steve Guest, the Rapid Response Director for the National Republican Committee went to Twitter and said, “UNHINGED: Barack Obama- who droned weddings & targeted journalists-compares [President Trump] to a dictator who thinks, ‘I can kill people. I can throw them in jail…I can suppress journalists.”

Actress and vocal trump supporter, Kirstie Alley tweeted to 60 Minutes asking if they would keep giving Obama “softball” questions as they have to Joe Biden and if they would question Obama’s alleged spying on Trump’s campaign.

Former Left-leaning journalist Zaid Jilani posted a former article from the Washington Post where he discussed how he was expected to “toe the White House line” even when it went against issues within his organization.
