Liberal Media Avoided Hunter Biden Coverage to Ensure Trump Defeat

Now that Hunter Biden has publicly revealed he is under investigation for possible tax crimes the liberal media is finally taking notice. Despite the very real connections revealed by the New York Post between the Presidential then-candidates son to multiple Chinese and Russian business executives, the media chose to label the story as “disinformation” and void coverage. However, now that the election has passed the same outlets have begun reporting on Biden. Many see the move from media outlets for what it was, a thinly veiled ploy to help Joe Biden win.

House Republican whip Steve Scalise called out the media for the lack of coverage of Hunter Biden during the campaign.

Steve Scalise took to Twitter to address the media’s behavior. “Let’s be clear about what happened: Big Tech censored the Biden corruption story. The media called it Russian disinformation. All to protect Joe Biden in the election. Noe the truth is out. Hunter Biden is under federal investigation,” he wrote.

The media has had no problem reporting on unsubstantiated claims surrounding the Trump family for the past few years regarding Russian collusion. These same “journalists” then balked at the thought of reporting on a story that could potentially cast the Democrat choice for President in a bad light.

Multiple critics have called out these supposed news outlets for the blatant hypocrisy surrounding the treatment of the Bidens compared to the Trumps. These same critics are now wondering if the media had done its job and reported on relevant news surrounding Hunter Biden if the election would have produced a different outcome.

Fox News reports:

“Hunter Biden’s business dealings would have cost Joe Biden any shot at the White House, which is exactly why outlets like CNN and MSNBC refused to cover the issue before the election,” Barron told Fox News.

“Any news outlet with even a shred of credibility or commitment to journalistic integrity would view the news of a federal investigation into Hunter Biden as proof that they had erred dramatically in not covering this issue sooner,” Barron added. “Alas, CNN and MSNBC care little about credibility and even less about journalistic integrity.”

CNN claimed the outlet was following the story surrounding Hunter Biden but ultimately chose not to report it to “keep stories in proportion.”

“Yes, the son of the president-elect being under federal investigation is a big story. There is no doubt about that. But is it a bigger story than the actual president trying to overturn the results of the US election? No, it’s not,” Darcy continued. “Is it more important than the pandemic surging across the country killing thousands of people each week? No, it’s not. Covering the Hunter Biden story is important, but it should be in proportion.”

DePauw University professor and media critic Jeffrey McCall feels it is “clear the traditional media carefully crafted its collective news agenda in the run-up to the election” as there was little scrutiny of Biden’s policy plans or his “routine gaffes, misstatements, and certainly no interest in delving into the Hunter Biden situation” until after Election Day.

Republican leader Kevin Mccarthy called out the liberal media for its blatant bias.

“Big Tech and the Media teamed up to bury a story about corruption in the Biden family. Only now-after the election- are they reporting the truth about Hunter Biden’s federal investigation. What took so long?” Rep. McCarthy tweeted.

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany joined critics tweeting, “ONLY NOW will the media cover Hunter Biden. During the election… 1. Hunter’s associate wen ton the record 2. Hunter’s laptop was turned over 3. Biden campaign didn’t deny @NYPost reporting. NOW Huter admits to being under investigation & only now does Fake News cover.”
