Some believe that a recently leaked phone call between President Trump and the Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger will be enough to tip the looming Senate towards Democrats but David Perdue doesn’t agree. In a phone call between President Trump and Raffensperger, the President can be heard defending his claim that he won the Peach State and urging Raffensperger to “find” another few thousand votes which would push Trump over the edge while also berating the official. Despite multiple recounts, Georgia was certified for Democrat Joe Biden.

What’s most shocking is that a state official had the audacity to not only record his call with the President but then share the tape publicly. The act itself is a clear representation of the contempt the GA office has for the president. However, Trump has made these same claims against Raffensperger for weeks now.

Sen. Perdue is standing by President Trump’s push for Raffensperger’s resignation. The Republican senator who faces a run-off reelection tomorrow called Raffesnperger’s actions “disgusting.”

Fox News reports:

“It’s disgusting in my view,” he said. “But what the president said is exactly what he’s been saying the last few months.”

Perdue pointed out that he has already called on Raffensperger to resign. He said the secretary of state’s office and the state’s legislature both failed to answer Trump’s questions about voter fraud in the state.

“He’s going to call his faithful out here,” Perdue said. He said that Trump is going to remind voters in Georgia that the future of the country is in their hands.

“The people of Georgia will determine the future direction of the country. He’s going to remind them of that,” he said.

Sen. Perdue and Kelly Loeffler are embroiled in a run-off election for control of the Senate against Democrat challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
