Is Trump’s Cabinet Trying to Remove Him from Office?

Reports have begun to surface indicating that Cabinet members are seriously considering invoking the 25th Amendment to have President Trump removed from office. The monumental move comes after violence erupted during a pro-Trump Save America March in D.C. which culminated in protestors illegally breaching the Capitol building while Congress held a Joint Session to certify the Electoral College results.

The Daily Wire reports:

The House Judiciary Committee, controlled by the Democrat Party, called on Pence to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.

“President Trump remained silent even as insurrections broke windows, threatened U.S. Capitol Police, and scaled the walls of the Capitol,” the letter said. “Earlier in the morning, President Trump held a rally at the White House and told protesters ‘I’ll be with you’ and encouraged them to march to the Capitol to protest the certification of the electoral college votes.”

Part of the concern regarding the violence was the way that Trump allegedly responded to it. “Trump initially rebuffed and resisted requests to mobilize the National Guard, according to a person with knowledge of the events,” The New York Times reported. “It required intervention from White House officials to get it done, according to the person with knowledge of the events.”

The Times reported separately that Pence was the one who gave the order to deploy the national guard to regain control of the nation’s capital.

The news comes after a series of White House resignations.
