Ride-hailing industry

California’s Assembly Bill 2 legislation is trying to reclassify Uber and Lyft drivers as employees, rather than as independent contractors. The pro-Biden Silicon Valley is against the legislation but, if they don’t receive a majority on their opposition legislation, the ride-hailing industry may face big regulatory hurdles. This radical legislation could open the doors for other states to follow in their tracks.
