Post-Trump GOP

A fifth of respondents were described as “Post-Trump GOP.” This tribe holds strong positive opinions of the former president, but they don’t believe Trump should continue to lead the party and would vote for someone other than the former president in a hypothetical 2024 Republican presidential nomination ballot.

However, Trump has won nearly every poll conducted which asks respondents who they would support to be the party’s nominee in 2024. Other Republican superstars like Trump’s former VP Mike Pence, Florida’s Ron de Santis, and South Dakota’s Kristi Noem have trailed behind Trump in the polls but are also considered favorites if Trump decides not to run for office again.
