Former President Trump joined Maria Bartiromo on Fox News Tuesday to blast President Biden’s handling of the current immigration crisis and urge Americans to receive their Coronavirus vaccination. During the interview, Trump said that Biden is on track to “destroy our country” because of the tidal wave of immigrants entering the country. However, Trump also seemed to do Dr. Fauci a big favor during the interview when he urged Americans- especially Republicans to voluntarily get vaccinated.

Earlier, Dr. Fauci publicly pleaded for Trump to tell his supporters to get the vaccine after reports emerged that Republican men were less inclined to sign up for the shot. Fauci made the comments after a series of ads promoting the vaccines featuring all living former presidents-except Trump began circulating.

Fox News reports:

During the interview, Bartiromo asked the former president if he would recommend his supporters voluntarily receive the coronavirus vaccine, noting that a sizeable swath of Republicans remain uneasy or opposed to getting the shot at this point.

“I would,” Trump responded. “I would recommend it and I would recommend it to a lot of people that don’t want to get it and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly.”

“But again, we have our freedoms and we have to live by them and I agree with that also. But it is a great vaccine. It is a safe vaccine and it is something that works.”

Trump said pharmaceutical companies and the Food and Drug Administration have been working “around the clock” to develop the various vaccinations.

Later in the interview, Trump berated President Biden for his proposed tax hikes as well as the spiking gas prices across the country.
