Define When a Stabilizing Brace Coverts a Weapon into a Short-Barreled Rifle
In direct response to the recent mass killing in a Colorado grocery store, the Justice Department will be forced to define when a stabilizing device converts a pistol into a short-barreled rifle according to the requirement of the National Firearms Act. The alleged killer in Colorado seems to have used a stabilizing device with his pistol with an arm brace, which can make a firearm more stable and accurate while still being concealable. The Justice Department must issue the proposed rule within 60 days.
