Instead of visiting the border, Kamala Harris traveled to Guatemala to meet with President Giammattei to discuss the ongoing crisis. During the visit, VP Harris said that the main drivers behind the border crisis are climate change and poor economic conditions. However, President Giammattei pushed back on her claims and said the real culprit behind the border crisis is the Biden administration’s mixed messaging.
