Canadians took to the US border to protest the current lockdown situation in Canada, things are that bad up north. 

Canadian citizens traveling are required to not only test negative when reentering the country, but they are required to stay at a quarantine hotel. You are required to pay for your involuntary stay at these facilities, the cheaper hotels will run you just over a 1,000 Canadian dollars while more expensive accommodations can run double that. 

Canadians are also being fined for taking the wrong kind of Covid test. A nurse who flew to America and back took a PCR Covid test and although her result was negative she was fined 5,700 Canadian dollars for taking the wrong test. 

All the bizarre laws and constantly changing rules in the country have made it a lackluster travel destination and the people of the country are rightfully upset.
