Dr. Rochelle Walensky
Director for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) Dr. Rochelle Walensky was asked in May 2021 if the administration was expecting businesses to invoke vaccine mandates on employees. She responded that businesses would be able to make their own decision regarding vaccine requirements for employees but the federal government would stay out of it.
“We’re not counting on vaccine mandates at all. It may very well be that local businesses, local jurisdictions will work toward vaccine mandates. That is going to be locally driven and not federally driven,” Dr. Walensky said.
