Monday night New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attended the Met Gala and drew some sharp criticisms. While the presence of the Congresswoman at the event typically reserved for Hollywood’s elite was enough to raise eyebrows it was her outfit choice that really took the cake. The progressive politician wore a dress with the words “tax the rich” on the back in a similar style to that of Chick-fil-a’s fast-food bag. Naturally, it wasn’t long before critics called AOC out on her blatant hypocrisy considering a ticket to the event cost $30,000 dollars a table cost $295,000 and I’m sure the cost of the custom-made dress wasn’t cheap either.
Also, let’s not forget that AOC had no mask in sight at the event with hundreds of attendees. However, it’s highly doubtful that she will label this event as a “super spreader” event like she’s attempted to do to events attended by conservatives.

For a politician that says she hates the rich, she had no issues attending an event that basically celebrates the pinnacle of wealth.
Take a look at some of the responses to AOC’s tone-deaf move below.
Either @AOC paid $30,000 to attend the MET Gala
Or she received a $30,000 gift
If its the latter, I hope she pays her taxes on it which in her bracket would be around 32-35%
So she should owe $9,600

AOC wanted to hang out with a bunch of rich celebs at a cool party without losing her socialist street cred so she tossed “Tax the Rich” on the back of her dress & called it a day. It’s not much more complicated than that.

A ticket costs $35,000.
Members of Congress cannot accept a free ticket. AOC cannot use campaign funds to buy a ticket.
So, how did she manage to legally attend 🤔 Oh! I forgot, she's a Democratic Socialist!
Just another fake Socialist!https://t.co/NzQ5Awe5cW
