Democrat Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer will have to fight to stay in the governor’s mansion next year. Former Detroit Police Chief James Craig is challenging the embattled Democrat while focusing his platform on education and support for police.

JAMES CRAIG: What’s missing here in Michigan and in our nation — a leadership void. People are sick and tired of politics as usual. People do a lot of talking, but they don’t do anything. And so what Detroiters have come to learn and Michiganders are learning now is that I lead from the front.
We saw what happened in Detroit last year. Certainly, we were one of the few major cities that didn’t burn last year. We’re talking about leadership — building relationships.
Small businesses are sick and tired of these unilateral decisions. It’s not the pandemic. It’s really the decisions that were made. And then you talk about schools. I mean, so there’s a lot going on. But people want leadership. It’s just that simple.
Gretchen Whitmer has faced sharp criticism over her response to the Coronavirus pandemic and her strict mandates.

Chief Craig was a terrific Chief for the City of Detroit!! Unlike most Democrat-run cities, Detroit didn’t see the burning and looting that other large cities had.
The Detroit Mayor, Mike Duggan, a Democrat, must publicly support the Grinch, but I know deep down, he likes and respects Chief Craig.
Besides, Whitmer, like ALL OTHER DEMOCRATS, is a hypocrite. While she told others not to travel north, she did. While she told others not to go anywhere for a 3-day holiday weekend, she told her husband to get their boat in the water (this made national news). She told citizens not to travel out of state, while several of Whitmer’s staff traveled to Miami (pics on FB), and then shortly thereafter, Whitmer too traveled to Florida.
Once again “Do as I say, not as I do!”
And don’t even get me started on her WORTHLESS COVID RESTRICTIONS!!
Detroit Police Chief Craig and his fulfillment of his duties appear to be the only reason that Detroit didn’t follow other liberal big cities in allowing riots, burning, and murders to take place last summer. He has proven his ability to do his job, whereas Governor Whitmer has failed to do her job. Michigan needs a Governor Craig!
