Obama’s money games always ran both ways, he made sure of that, and one of his best partners in crime was Tony Rezko. 

During the early years of Obama as a candidate, he received minor campaign donations from Rezko. Later down the line Rezko helped Obama with fundraising for his larger campaigns. Eventually, Obama found his opportunity to help this old friend out. 

In 1997 Obama had advocated for a low-income senior citizen development project that was headed up by Rezko and another associate of Obama. The project received $14 million in taxpayer funds as well as $885,000 in development fees. 

Pays well to have friends in the office, just ask Obama’s dear friend Tony Rezko.
