Some California families are taking matters into their own hands as crime continues to skyrocket. According to reports, more than 150 families in San Francisco have employed private security to help ward off crime which has become all too common in neighborhoods. Reports of car break-ins, petty theft, and home burglaries have jumped 753% percent in the city from May 2020 to May 2021.
Fox News reports:
“We don’t feel safe in our neighborhood,” resident Katie Lyons, told CBS SF. “And we have an alarm, we have cameras on our property, but we want the extra security of having someone have eyes on our place.”
Lyons and other families hired patrol special officer Alan Byard to help patrol the streets of the city’s Marina District following repeated instances of car break-ins and home burglaries.
“It’s a nice area down here, people are afraid of what’s been going on,” said Byard. “They want a safe place to raise their kids. In the last year, I’ve had 10 of my clients move out of the city.”
Another San Francisco resident who has been in the area for over two decades remarked that he’s noticed a distinct uptick in crime.
“Oh absolutely, absolutely. This place used to be – nothing would ever happen here,” he responded.
Some residents say they’re no longer comfortable leaving their home with a purse after night and have been become less comfortable walking around in broad daylight, according to reports other residents say they just opt to drive or take ride services like Uber and Lyft everywhere.

All due to IDIOTIC Democrat policies and their refusal to take any responsibility or admit that this increased crime situation even exists!
Isn’t SF one of those “defund the Police” cities? I don’t understand why people don’t get it! If you get rid of the ONLY deterrent that the criminals have, (now listen up Liberals) CRIME WILL GO UP! It is a fairly simple principle: The police are there to STOP the criminals from doing something that they have decided they want to do, so by that very nature they will be adversaries! That’s right, criminals do not like the Police! WOW, who knew? So the people screaming about defunding the police are not doing it for you, no matter what their signs say, no matter what celebrities (who, by the way, all have private security) say, the defund the police movement is not about making you safer from all the horrible police officers (Sarcasm greatly intended). The defund the police movement is about nothing more, than making it easier for criminals to commit crimes! Statistically speaking, there are far more “good” police officers than “bad” ones! Do they exist? Of course, in the same way there are “bad” workers in every profession. It is not an easy job to do. And all this hate, and talk about defunding is not making it any easier.
