The Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty joined countless liberals attacking Democrat Senator Kyrsten Sinema’s fashion choice while she presided over the Senate. The Arizona Democrat presided over the Senate while wearing a denim vest, a fashion choice that shocked critics to their very core.
While Sinema’s choice to wear the casual attire was eyebrow-raising the fact it attracted such an outcry from the left is telling. Liberals have pushed to destroy barriers they view as “elitist” such as formal attire and businesswear saying that it shouldn’t affect one’s ability to carry out their duties in the workplace and doesn’t distract from professionalism. However, it seems all that wen tout the window when it comes to a Democrat that isn’t bending to every progressive Biden agenda item.
Fox News reports:
Sinema, who’s faced relentless scrutiny from the left in recent months over her opposition to parts of a $3.5-trillion, Democratic-backed spending bill, presided over the Senate wearing the vest.
Washinton Post editor Karen Tumulty criticized Sen. Sinema’s out choice on Twitter.
There used to be a sign in the Senate Press Gallery admonishing journalists they were not allowed to wear denim into the chamber. Hill reporters: is it still there? https://t.co/1K1CF17nao

Washington Post reporter Paul Kane then posted a photo of the sign barring press from wearing denim, and anything other than business attire – confirming the ban is still in place.
“Yep. It’s still there…” Tumulty responded, before stating she wasn’t the one who put up the sign after someone compared her to a “boomer” teacher enforcing a middle school dress code.

Other critics called Sinema’s choice to wear denim on the Senate floor disrespectful, pathetic and accused her of trying to attract attention.
Take a moment to imagine the blowback if Republicans were the ones criticizing how a woman was dressed and accused her of doing it for attention, it would dominate a news cycle. Once again, the liberal media shows the gross double standard between how it treats Republicans versus Democrats.
