The 2nd Amendment rarely comes up in these local races unless some crazy local ordinance about guns comes up on the ballot or a particular candidate is a zealot one way or another. In Virginia the issue has been pushed into the open because of the rise in Crime and national attention on Gun Violence. 

Glenn Youngkin stance on guns is nothing special, he is not some pro-gun candidate who will repeal gun control currently in place but he is not favorite of the gun control lobby. 

Terry McAuliffe is a seasoned veteran in gun control politics and has done everything in his power to paint Glenn Youngkin as America’s number one gun lover. Terry McAuliffe is just another product of the gun control lobby, his campaign has received major backing from these gun control groups and he will institute California style gun control if elected Governor.
