The Virginia Gubernatorial Race was one to watch, Republican Glenn Youngkin was able to snatch victory from the Jaws of Defeat in his battle against Democrat Terry McAuliffe. This will likely be remembered as one of the dirtiest political battles in Virginia history, the Democrats in the state did everything to try and win.

Democrats in the state of Virginia went out the night before election day and planted signs that read “Youngkin=Trump” that looked just like the Youngkin campaign signs in an effort to swing the election. The Democrats in the state engaged in a separate ad campaign that involved Republican look-alike messaging that claimed Trump did not endorse Youngkin. A third incident that blew up in the faces of Democrats involved them trying to stage a photo op with fake White Nationalists wielding Tiki Torches in front of Glenn Youngkin campaign materials.

This dirty election strategy did not work out for the Democrats and the biggest takeaway from this race wasn’t even that. The biggest takeaway by far from this election is that education is now a winning issue for Republicans, this has traditionally not been the case. Teachers Unions still act like a Democrat endorsement arm, but parents do not like the current state of schools in America or the curriculum that they are teaching.
