What the Censure Means 

The censure that Paul Gosar was given has stripped him of all his committee positions. This is a very big deal because now Gosar will not have as much sway in Congress as he did previously. 

Typically a censure does not require that committee positions be stripped from the Representative being censured but in this case this penalty was added. This is generally just a public thrashing for representatives, not a formal punishment.
