Matt Gaetz Says He’s Discussed Trump Becoming House Speaker

Could Donald Trump become the next Speaker of the House? Possibly.

Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz said during a news conference that he has brought the subject up with the former president before.

According to Newsmax:

“I have,” Gaetz said, Forbes reported. The congressman did not elaborate.

The speaker, second in line to the presidency, does not have to be a member of Congress, though every speaker in U.S. history has been.

Following Gaetz’s summer comment regarding Trump, Rep. Brendan Boyle, D-Pa., introduced a bill that would limit eligibility for the House speaker role to current House lawmakers.

Although Trump associates have said the former president has no interest in being speaker, the idea has picked up momentum among conservative lawmakers such as Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., and Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga.

However, Trump hasn’t mentioned any interest in becoming House Speaker, he’s hinted at launching another presidential campaign.

  1. It’s an interesting thought. And he would be in a position to exact revenge on Pelosi, Shiff, and some other @$$holes.

    1. I was just saying last year that he should run for congress, get elected and then get elected as speaker when we regain control of congress. Then impeach Biden for several reasons and then impeach Harris for the border. Trump could be President again in 2023 and end this nightmare.

      1. You missed that step where the Trumpers win a majority in the House.
Republicans lost the last two times.
There will be more than one Republican House Member that will vote against Trump.

      1. Albert – Once an ass, always an ass! Just when are you going to grow up, and put on your big boy pants – jerk!

    2. I would not consider it “revenge”. I would consider it holding these reprobates ACCOUNTABLE for their corrupt dishonest dealings.

  2. Revenge should never be the answer, just look at the last year. I think Trump would make a great House Speaker as he would also make a great president.

    1. The best scenario is Trump becomes Speaker, Impeaches the current President and Vice President for failure to uphold their oath of office. As Speaker he then becomes President to fill out Biden & Kamala’s term and runs for President in 2024.

      1. You think that you are going to have 2/3 of Senate in 2023?
That means that you will have to flip 14 seats of the 34 up for election, and not lose any.
        You are a dreamer.
        You should be given citizenship.

  3. This would be a step down from President but it would sure give him a good way to halt some of the garbage Nasty Nancy pushes !!! I Pray he will consider..Trump might not need the job but America sure needs him

      1. Bullsh#t Trump needs no one to bow down to him, Soros needs to completely destroy our Constitution, is that what you want a piece of sh#t like George and Alex Soros destroying what’s left of this country ????

  4. THE HOUSE SPEAKER ONLY RULES THE HOUSE THE VOTING IS STILL UPON EACH MEMBER.PURLOOSE USES STRONG ARM METHODES TO FORCE VOTES. TRUMP WOULD HAVE A DUMERCRAT HOUSE TO FACE. NEVER HAPPEN.

  5. Yes , TRUMP is deffenitly a much better choice than that other thing that has a very bad brain problem. and over active mouth syndrome . With crainial recital inversion .

  6. well you know this biden government is really screwed up if they don’t return TRUMP to power . considering. this fraudulent election these COMMUNIST DAMOCRAPS pulled on American citizens.

  7. If he became House Speaker, Repubs win House and Senate next Nov., they could impeach and unseat both Biden & Harris, which puts Trump in the Oval. If he then wins in 2024, he could LEGALLY be POTUS 45 and 47 for a total of 10 years… Dems would go NUTS, but we would save the Republic.

      1. So how much is ole money bags soros paying you to make a complete a** of yourself, Cuz ya look like a Dummorat 😆

  8. Actually, as Speaker, Trump would be in a powerful position to aid a President DeSantis in pro American legislation. The only problem is that we DO have an indication of what policies Trump would follow (not that I agreed with ALL of them he did follow), but the record DeSantis leaves is at the state level – not the national. And it is also true that Trump is a VERY fast learner, and that he now realizes just how deep the Washington Swamp is! I would love to give him a second time at bat, to deal with all those that betrayed him during the first administration. The smell of roasting RINOS on spits in Washington, DC would be decidedly pleasant!

It just may be that he could generate the political fear in modern ederal politicians that is required to get radical pro American legislation passed. In this case, a friendly DeSantis as Speaker would be an even better idea. Could DeSantis do it? Would DeSantis do it? There ARE a couple of Reps now in the congress that could do the job, but would they be able to be elected Speaker?
