Historians Rank the Best Presidents

White House Flickr

A recent CSPAN survey had historians rank every US President and some stand out as a cut above the rest while others will be remembered for their mismanagement cabinets and disastrous policy decisions. These historians were able to choose which presidents they thought did a good job and which presidents they thought did a bad job, the data was compiled and we were able to see which presidents ranked the highest. Here are the top 10 US Presidents according to historians:

I don’t know who these historians are, but LBJ was a terrible President. He got us into the Vietnam war but refused to win it by limiting our military’s rules of engagement. He also ruined our Social Security system by taking it from an investment fund and moving it into the general fund where the government could use it as they pleased. LBJ lost public confidence, was disgraced, and did not run for a second term because he knew he would lose. He does not belong in the top ten for sure.

Amen! I’m surprised he was on the list. He consulted with Eisenhower and admitted he didn’t know what to do about this war.{ I heard the tape on KABC Radio on the Michael Jackson show KABC in the late 70s)

LBJ is credited for the Civil Rights Laws, which he strongly opposed as the Leader of the Senate, but could not veto because he would have been overwritten by the Senate – yet he is hailed as the champion

Liberal historians generally regard great Presidents as those who actively expand federal power, sometimes in violation of the Constitution. Truly great Presidents, in my view, are those who faithfully follow the Constitution and keep government power limited.

Kennedy wasn’t great. His legacy is mostly spin. The truth about the Cuban missile crisis was far different than what was fed to the public.

If Kennedy had not betrayed our Cuban allies by cutting off air support in the midst of the Bay of Pigs invasion, the Cuban missile crisis would never have happened because Castro would have been history.

FDR was a socialist and tried to pack the courts, Congress blocked many of his programs as unconstitutional His programs extended the Depression by over 7 years, it was World War 2 that brought our nation out of the depression not him. He is the one that started the US on the road to a welfare state and away from self reliance.

I don’t do “Next Page” and I already know that Donald J. Trump was/is the best President in my lifetime (and I’m old).

He actually did things to HELP the American people. He didn’t need the job. He is already a multi-billionaire but he wanted to help the country that helped him. The fact that he was not (and is not) a politician is exactly what made him such a good president. It is also why the politicians (in both political parties) don’t like him. They are worried that the American people will figure it out and stop voting for politicians. We NEED more business people not more politicians.

Absolutely true. I’m old too, with a great long term memory. Johnson and Kenndy should be ranked in the lower third of all presidents.

Mr. Trump is definitely up there with Lincoln and Eisenhower. He kept every single promise that the scumbag DemonCrat opposition allowed him to keep, and that in spite of pitiless, relentless slander, libel and character assassination from the DemonCrats and their lickspittle media. Perhaps the historians who evaluated the presidents and compiled this list belong to the Howard Zinn School.

FDR is widely credited with recovery from the great depression when his policies in fact worsened the effects of it and extended it’s length. Adolf Hitler should be credited with ending the depression since the US industrial capability was rehabilitated by Europe preparing for WWII. Neither did Johnson belong there since he is directly responsible the way he ran, yes, he ran, the Viet Nam war. That was one of the problem with it.

ABSOLUTELY !!! Lincoln wasn’t all that great either, he freed the blacks to wreck havoc on our country, just think about how much better off we would be now if Booth had got to him a few years sooner, NO NAACP, NO CONGRESSIONAL BLACK CAUCUS, NO MALCOM X, NO MLK, NO RAP, NO DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS, ETC., ETC., ETC. !!! F**K JOE BIDEN !!!

Meh! Some are obvious, some increased Socialism substantially. One was the last good one of his political party, but not worthy of being considered one of the best. Yes, I am just as biased as those historians are. I’m thinking most of those historians work for NPR or the Berkely University. Just saying…

These are most likely the same “HISTORIANS” that keep trying to convince everybody that Malcom X, and MLK were some kind of a leaders rather than the murdering domestic terrorist that all of us that actually lived though that time KNOW THEY WERE !!!! Liberals have a demented view of exactly what history really was !!! FJB !!! History will prove that PRESIDENT TRUMP WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PRESIDENT THAT WE THE ACTUAL PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES EVER HAD OR WILL EVER HAVE, HANDS DOWN !!! F**K JOE BIDEN !!! LETS GO BRANDON !!

They missed President Trump and they were WRONG on LBJ. LBJ was a bigot and had the Civil right s Bill forced down his Throat by Republicans. He created Welfare to control Minorities and Democraps have used it ever since to keep Americans of African Ancestry down.

I’ve been on God’s green earth for almost eighty-three years. I served in the military under Kennedy and served as part of the training of our Army Rangers during the berlin crisis. Donald J Trump is at the top of my list as one of the best, if not the best president this country has ever had. Additionally, I predict he will be reelected as the POTUS before Biden’s term is up.

Historians my ass. These idiots couldn’t choose the winner of hot dog eating contest. History is a pack of lies agreed upon. Bet these historians do not even know who said that.
